Celles-ci ne pourront plus se lier au r\u00e9cepteur VEGF et les vaisseaux sanguins ne pourront plus se diriger vers la tumeur. L&rsquo;anticorps (vert\/violet) se lie \u00e0 la mol\u00e9cule VEGF et emp\u00eache ainsi le d\u00e9ploiement de l&rsquo;action de l&rsquo;avastin.<br>\u00a9 Genentech<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>De nos jours, les anticorps monoclonaux sont utilis\u00e9s dans le traitement de divers cancers: certaines formes de lymphome non hodgkinien par exemple mais \u00e9galement dans le traitement du cancer de l&rsquo;intestin et du sein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&rsquo;origine du cancer du sein n&rsquo;est pas encore \u00e9lucid\u00e9e de fa\u00e7on pr\u00e9cise. On sait pourtant que certains facteurs g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques pr\u00e9disposent \u00e0 ce cancer. Il s&rsquo;agit de mutations sp\u00e9ciales dans les les g\u00e8nes appel\u00e9s HER2, BRCA1, BRCA2 et p53. Le manque d&rsquo;exercice physique ou la consommation excessive d&rsquo;alcool sont \u00e9galement des facteurs de risque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-my-grey-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Faits et chiffres au sujet du cancer du sein<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus de 4&rsquo;000 femmes par ann\u00e9e sont atteintes de cancer du sein en Suisse et 1&rsquo;300 en meurent. Gr\u00e2ce aux traitements disponibles aujourd&rsquo;hui, 80% d&rsquo;entre elles survivent plus de cinq ann\u00e9es &#8211; sans traitement, il s&rsquo;agirait de moins de 25%. La diminution de la mortalit\u00e9 de ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es doit \u00eatre attribu\u00e9e \u00e0 la combinaison de plusieurs facteurs: conscience accrue quant au cancer du sein, diagnostic pr\u00e9coce am\u00e9lior\u00e9, vaste recours au traitement hormonal, progr\u00e8s dans la chimioth\u00e9rapie, nouveaux m\u00e9dicaments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La mortalit\u00e9 diminue; pourtant le nombre de patientes atteintes de cancer du sein est en progression &#8211; due essentiellement au vieillissement de la population (trois quarts des cas de cancer du sein sont diagnostiqu\u00e9s \u00e0 50 ans et plus).
